Bluebonnets 2014

It has been a wonderful - and long - weekend!! Friday, I had the day off and got to hang out with the kids.

We started out with cinnamon rolls and fruit for breakfast at the kiddie table while watching Monsters U.

After playing "tackles" for longer than I liked, I needed a distraction, so I pulled out the bed - Bryan was AMAZED!! He immediately started planning cousin sleep overs!!

After playing on the bed for awhile - including a lunch picnic - it was nap time. While napping, Bryan got "EGGED" by Skylar and Aunt Laura.

Just woke up!!

He had so much fun finding the eggs!!

We ended the day with popcorn and movies. What a great start to Easter weekend!!

Saturday, Trey had a quick inspection to do, so we piled into the car and went with him!! Actually, he wanted to take Bryan up into one of the "big, tall" buildings with him. After the inspection, we decided to take the kids to the Grapevine Aquarium. You will now notice a lack of pictures of the aquarium....

We made the mistake - or not - of walking thru the mall first and stopping at the Disney Store. While we were there, Bryan was given the choice of getting a Zurg from Toy Story or going to the aquarium, he chose Zurg. I decided it was a teaching moment about making choices - surprisingly, he never once fussed about not going to see the fish!

After the trip to Grapevine, we headed home for naps. During which, I got to meet up with a friend for mani/pedi time!! Thanks, Melissa, for the impromptu invite!!

Then it was time to try to get the annual bluebonnet pictures - a tradition for every Texas kid!! Please excuse the cameos from the cast of Toy Story - if we took them away, tears followed!!
